I just realised, Packed To The Rafters is like our own Australian version of a quaint British comedy-drama: characters spouting unrealistic cliche-ridden dialogue to solve problems in a 45 minute show that no actual person would care two seconds about in real life.
Perhaps that’s why I dislike it so much.

Just got home from work helping people park their cars. And one of the drivers, a 50-something Italian man, came up to me and said that one of the other parking attendants was “a real asshole” and for me to “tell him to stay until 4:30, because when I come back I’m gonna fix that cunt up.”
I got off work at 2:30. I suppose I should have warned guy what was coming to him before I left. Oh well.
